Lauren Falk is a soprano vocalist. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Lauren has performed with Opera Project Columbus, Baldwin Wallace University Opera, Cleveland Opera Theater, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Lyric Theatre @ Illinois. She graduated with a B.M in Vocal Performance from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio and with an M.M in Voice Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Lauren emphasizes effective communication between herself, her colleagues, and the audiences she interacts with to aid the creative process. She strives to incorporate her learning in the fields of history, dance, theater, and literature to craft meaningful performances. Lauren is always excited to work on unique, inspiring performances, whether it be workshops of new works, such as in the {NOW} Festival with Cleveland Opera Theater, or working on productions in unique spaces, such as the production of Serse where she performed on the staircase of the Arcade Cleveland.
Lauren has over two decades of dance and movement experience. She has studied ballet, modern dance, ballroom dance, and the Viewpoints method. Lauren also has trained with several historical weapons. She has participated in Longsword competitions throughout the country, and has also studied dagger, bullwhip, foil, and single-handed sword.
Lauren also has experience working as an arts administrator. Most recently, she served as the graduate assistant and social media manager for the Lyric Theatre @ Illinois program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the co-directorship of Nathan and Julie Jordan Gunn.
